After-hours arts takeover with installations, live performances, workshops, DJ sets and an outdoor BBQ at Attenborough Arts Centre
Join us for the return of Attenborough Late, a fun-packed after-hours art experience that takes over our whole building. Our gallery and café will be buzzing with music, dance, performances and craft workshops all for no fee, with an array of food and drinks available for purchase. Full programme to be announced soon.
Current Line-Up: Jason and the Adventure of 254 in Gallery 1 – Reimagining the gallery space as a hospital ward, Wilsher-Mills’ immersive installation of sculptures, illustrations and interactive dioramas challenges the cultural and societal perceptions surrounding disability, medicine and the human body.
Attenborough BBQ – Burgers, hotdogs, fries, and homemade sauces galore outside of our centre, food prepared by Edith James Catering who also run our café.
DJ Sets by Shindig DJs – records only sets drawing on indie and classic tunes.
Gelli Printing Workshop – Try gelli printing with artist and printmaker Carol Pairaudeau. Carol will guide you through the basics using soft silicone plates to create prints without a press.
3D Diorama Scene Workshop – Inspired by our current exhibition, create your own autobiographical 3D diorama. Materials provided.
Islamic Geometry Workshop – A practical introduction to Islamic geometry using ruler, compass and watercolour led by Safira Ali, visual artist and calligrapher based in Leicestershire.
Show by Lindsey Warnes: ‘Lido – A Love Story’ – a 20 minute work in progress excerpt exploring lidos, written and performed by award-winning comedian Lindsey Warnes.
Show by Natalie Bellingham: ‘Marie Chou-Fleur’ – a playful piece blending clowning, storytelling and physical theatre celebrating being unapologetically ourselves.
Show by Anthony Ekundayo Lennon: ‘Sweet Memories’ – an excerpt from a performance piece reflecting on memory and play.
